Talbot Displays were commissioned to produce a set of new interactive donation boxes as part of a multi-million pound redevelopment of the RAF Museum London including the RAF Museum Cosford in the West Midlands (UK).  Tasked with managing the project from design concepts to fabrication, the project used Perspex® Clear acrylic and was turned around in 7 weeks to meet the grand opening on 30th June 2018, Armed Forces Day.

Materials That Shape the North

Over 20 triangular panels of Perspex® acrylic in a range of colours and textures have been used within the framework of a 7.3m diameter Pacific Dome alongside over 50 designers, material makers and manufacturers in a material showcase at The Great Exhibition of the North.

The exhibition is open at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts Newcastle, running 22 June – 9 September 2018.

The head and shoulder sculpture at the centre of the garden is modelled on Peter and Gill’s daughter, Gemma, and represents the role of the carer, who is often a pivotal figure in ensuring the patient remains the central focus. Weighing seven tonnes, and at 12 feet high, the figure will be constructed from layers of Perspex® Transparent Blue acrylic.
