Myeloma UK garden set for Chelsea

Perspex® brand announces its support of RHS Chelsea Garden

The Myeloma UK Garden by Gold medal winning designers John Everiss and Francesca Murrell will breathe new life into the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show 2018 as the blood cancer charity celebrates 21 years of progress.

The garden was inspired by Myeloma UK supporter Peter King, whose wife Gill, and brother Graham both passed away in 2016 after living with the disease for which there is still no known cure. The head and shoulder sculpture at the centre of the garden is modelled on Peter and Gill’s daughter, Gemma, and represents the role of the carer, who is often a pivotal figure in ensuring the patient remains the central focus. Weighing seven tonnes, and at 12 feet high, the figure will be constructed from layers of Perspex® Transparent Blue acrylic.

John and his team are using cutting edge technology to create this unique sculpture and are working in close collaboration with creative construction company, Stage One.

Here at Perspex® brand we can’t wait to see the garden in all its glory, at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, 22-26 May 2018.

A full case study on the garden will appear on www.perspex.com following the show, or alternatively, sign up to our newsletter to keep up-to-date with the latest from the Perspex® Brand.
